Welcome to the Healthy Vision Program Overview

The Healthy Vision Program Toolkit is a comprehensive resource designed for community leaders who want to make vision a health priority in their communities. This Toolkit is based upon the 10 vision objectives of Healthy People 2010, the prevention framework of the Nation that identifies the most significant preventable threats to health, and establishes national goals to reduce these threats.

This Toolkit contains a variety of resources to help promote the Healthy Vision Program, including the Community Action Guide, seven Handbooks, and the Speaker's Guide. These resources are also available on the Web at http://healthyvision2010.nei.nih.gov/.

  • The Community Action Guide includes media materials, tips for involving your community, and more.
  • The Handbooks focus on a variety of vision-related topics and include community-based activities, newspaper/newsletter articles, public service announcements, and camera-ready brochures.
  • The Speaker's Guide contains presentations to inform communities about eye health. PowerPoint, Word, and PDF versions, with speaker's notes, are included.
