The Vision Council

The Vision Council, a nonprofit trade association dedicated to improving America's vision health, leads the "Check Yearly. See Clearly." nationwide public health campaign to educate Americans on the importance of regular vision care. Since its inception in 2002, the campaign has educated millions of Americans through public service advertisements, media relations, educational materials, and Internet outreach.

In 2007, the Check Yearly campaign, in partnership with the National Association for Sport and Physical Education, created an educational kit to reach sport and physical education professionals. The kit includes a poster highlighting the "dos and don'ts" of emergency eye care treatment. The kit also provides teachers and coaches with the Help Protect Your Child's Vision fact sheet that can be photocopied and distributed to parents.

A free copy of the kit can be ordered or downloaded at www.checkyearly.com/eye-health-101/preventive-care/eye-protection.html.
